ROUTINE VISIT BY PASIR MAS DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICE TO SK GUAL TO'DEH: STRENGTHENING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TS25 AND UNDERSTANDING THE DIRECTION OF THE 2025–2035 EDUCATION POLICY

SK GUAL TO'DEH - Today, SK Gual To'Deh welcomed two officers from the Pasir Mas District Education Office (PPD), Puan Rosnani and Puan Suzana, as part of their routine visits to schools under the supervision of the Pasir Mas district. The purpose of the visit was to gain a clearer understanding of the implementation of the Transformational School Programme 2025 (TS25) at the school level and to provide an overview of the Ministry of Education Malaysia's new education policy for the period of 2025 to 2035.

PPD officers visited SK Gual To'Deh and met with Teachers in the school meeting room.

The PPD officers held a brief meeting in the SK Gual To'Deh meeting room at 10.15 a.m. The session served as a platform for two-way communication between the PPD officers and the school community, particularly in gathering teachers' feedback and reflections on the implementation of TS25. The discussion also provided an opportunity for the school to share its experiences, challenges, achievements and approaches in improving the quality of teaching and learning (T&L).

During the session, Puan Rosnani and Puan Suzana focused on teachers' reflections regarding the implementation of TS25 at the school. Reflection is an important element of teachers' professional development as it enables teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching practices, identify strengths and weaknesses, and plan continuous improvement strategies. The implementation of TS25 is not merely about fulfilling documentation requirements or carrying out planned activities. Instead, it requires a transformation in mindset, working culture and professional practices among educators.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the recognition of the English Language Panel of SK Gual To'Deh as a benchmark for strengthening and improving the school's programmes. This recognition is a positive development, as the English Language Panel has implemented various approaches and initiatives aimed at enhancing students' development and achievement over the past several years.

The panel's efforts have not been limited to academic performance alone. Instead, greater emphasis has been placed on developing students' overall potential. Various teaching and learning approaches have been planned to accommodate students' different proficiency levels, needs and abilities. Student-centred learning approaches have also been emphasised to ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate actively in classroom activities.

Furthermore, the success of any school panel in implementing educational programmes requires systematic planning, teamwork and continuous commitment from all teachers. Within the English Language Panel, a culture of sharing best practices, engaging in professional discussions and being willing to explore new approaches has contributed to improving the effectiveness of its programmes. These efforts demonstrate that educational transformation does not necessarily begin with large-scale programmes. Instead, it can start with small initiatives that are carefully planned and consistently implemented.

The recognition of the English Language Panel as a benchmark also brings significant responsibility to all its members. Effective practices and successful approaches should be properly documented, shared and disseminated to other subject panels. Such sharing of best practices is expected to promote a professional learning culture among teachers while improving the quality of programme management and implementation throughout the school.

At the same time, the briefing on the Ministry of Education Malaysia's new education policy for 2025–2035 provided valuable insights into the future direction of the country's education system. Changes in the educational landscape require teachers to continuously enhance their competencies, adapt their pedagogical approaches and develop skills that are relevant to current needs. Teachers are no longer merely knowledge providers; they also serve as facilitators of learning, mentors, and catalysts for students' holistic development.

In this regard, the implementation of TS25 and the new education policy should be viewed as complementary initiatives. Both require the commitment of the entire school community to create a conducive learning environment, strengthen instructional leadership, enhance teachers' professionalism and ensure that every planned programme delivers meaningful outcomes for students.

Overall, the visit by Puan Rosnani and Puan Suzana to SK Gual To'Deh was more than just a routine monitoring visit. It provided a valuable opportunity for sharing, reflection and continuous improvement. The recognition given to the English Language Panel is expected to motivate all members of the school community to continue striving for excellence in educational practices.

Indeed, the success of a school should not be measured solely by academic achievement, but also by its ability to nurture students' potential, develop good character and produce knowledgeable, skilled individuals who are well prepared to face future challenges. Through collaboration, commitment and a culture of continuous improvement, SK Gual To'Deh will continue moving forward in realising the aspirations of the national education system.
