WELCOME TO THE NEW SESSION OF 2024/25

Assalamualaikum, it's nearly a month of school holidays, and tomorrow will be the first day of school in 2024. Teachers are always busy before the opening session to make sure everything looks fine for the first day. Teacher's are always excited to come to school nearly a week before the school session. On behalf of the English Center at SK Gual To'Deh, as the Head Panel I would like to welcome all teachers and students to the new school session. English is an important subject in Malaysia. This language has become a compulsory subject across our country. A few years ago, I planned a few activities to complete the yearly plan for the department. Highly Immersive Programme has been one of the annual programs since 3 years ago. This year will be the fourth for the HIP at my school. This year, the HIP will become more interesting, and I'll have participants from other schools. I have been teaching for more than two decades. Since 2000, when I was at the aborigine school at SK Pulat, I decided to teach English as a non-option. My major is music, and my minor is art. At the college, I am not into music but more into art. I painted a few oil paintings when I was at college. Some friends said he was gifted. Honestly, as an English teacher, I passed through the challenge by myself. I was attending a short-term course introduced by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. The course is called Program Intervensi Tambah Opsyen, or PITO in English. An officer, Pn. Rosnani Bt. Daud, who is the SISC, introduced me to this program. My session in Cohort 3 started in June 2023 and ended in July 2023. The convocation was held at PICC, Putrajaya, on October 23, 2023.

After I completed the PITO-Tesl, I was now declared an option English teacher. It's been a long journey to achieve this amazing moment. The graduation day was attended by all my kids. This is an achievement for my kids and for all my students. The new life of a student has begun. This year I started to further my study for a PhD at a local university. My research related to the PITO-Tesl. I hope one day I can help many non-options out there to continue their studies in any condition.
