LUBOK JONG - The creation of my new logo featuring the Thai name “Khun Matt” (คุณแมตต์) holds deep personal meaning and reflects my journey of cultural appreciation and language learning. This logo is more than just a visual identity—it is a symbol of growth, connection, and respect toward the Thai language and culture.
“Khun” (คุณ) is a polite Thai honorific used to show respect, similar to “Mr.” or “Ms.” in English. The addition of “Matt” personalizes the name, transforming it into a unique identity that blends my personal and cultural narratives. Seeing “คุณแมตต์” written in Thai script in my logo represents my dedication to learning Thai and honoring the culture that has inspired me. It signifies a sense of belonging and mutual respect between myself and the Thai-speaking community.
This logo also marks a milestone in my language journey. Learning Thai has not only helped me communicate better with Thai speakers—especially those living near the Malaysia-Thailand border—but has also opened my mind to new perspectives. It has deepened my understanding of regional history, values, and the subtle nuances embedded in everyday interactions.
