SK GUAL TO'DEH - The 5th Language Week and Highly Immersive Programme (HIP) 2025 at SK Gual To’Deh began with a strong focus on the Malay language. The opening day created a lively and meaningful atmosphere as pupils actively participated in a variety of engaging activities that showcased their talents and creativity.
The Malay language segment featured exciting competitions, including poetry recitation, storytelling, spelling, and reading. These activities were designed not only to celebrate the beauty of the national language but also to enhance pupils’ communication skills, confidence, and love for learning. Pupils were allowed to explore their abilities in front of their peers and teachers, and many expressed their enjoyment throughout the event.
The highlight of the programme was the enthusiastic participation from pupils of all levels. They demonstrated not only their linguistic skills but also their creativity in presenting poems with emotions, narrating stories with expression, and competing energetically in spelling and reading challenges. The joyful spirit in the school hall reflected the pupils’ eagerness to embrace learning beyond the classroom.
Prizes were presented by the Senior Assistant of Curriculum (PKP) to winners from each category. The smiles and cheers from the participants showed how much they valued the recognition given for their efforts. More importantly, the event encouraged pupils to appreciate the Malay language as a vital medium of communication and as part of their cultural identity.
This year’s Language Week and HIP programme also underlined the importance of bilingualism in education. While Malay language activities took the lead at the beginning of the programme, the event also paved the way for other language activities, including English, to follow in the coming days. Such initiatives reflect the school’s commitment to promoting language proficiency holistically.
Special thanks to practical trainees, Fariez from Kolej Profesional MARA and Asyraf from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), who supported the organisation of this programme. Their dedication and assistance significantly contributed to the event's success up to its launch day on 28 August 2025.
In conclusion, the 5th Language Week and HIP 2025 at SK Gual To’Deh was not only a platform for academic competition but also a celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit. With active participation and the support of teachers and school leaders, the programme successfully inspired pupils to continue developing their language skills with confidence and joy.
