A Morning of Joy and Appreciation: Treating My Pupils to KFC at School

ENGLISH CENTER - This morning was filled with happiness and pride as I decided to reward my pupils who had successfully performed the drama Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup. Their dedication, teamwork, and confidence on stage truly deserved recognition. To show my appreciation, I went to buy KFC meals for them through the Drive-Thru. It was my way of saying “thank you” for their effort and spirit throughout the preparation and performance.

My pupils are enjoying their fried chicken happily. Alhamdulillah, they truly deserve this moment after working so hard to make the Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup drama project a great success. Their smiles say it all.

Early in the morning, I drove to the nearest KFC. The smell of freshly fried chicken filled the air as I waited at the Drive-Thru window. The staff handed me several boxes of delicious meals, neatly packed and warm. I could already imagine the children’s excited faces when they received their food. After collecting everything, I headed straight to school, eager to surprise them.

When I arrived, the pupils were already in their classroom, chatting happily about their recent performance. As I entered with the boxes of KFC, their eyes widened with excitement. Some clapped their hands while others shouted joyfully, unable to hide their surprise. I reminded them that this meal was a small reward for their commitment, discipline, and courage in bringing the story to life on stage.

We arranged the meals neatly and everyone sat together to enjoy their food. The room was filled with laughter, cheerful voices, and the sound of crispy chicken being eaten. Watching them eat so happily made me feel deeply content. It reminded me that teaching is not only about lessons and exams, but also about creating meaningful memories and nurturing students’ confidence.

As the pupils finished their meals, I thanked them again for their wonderful teamwork and reminded them that success comes from effort, unity, and belief in themselves. Their smiles and gratitude warmed my heart. This simple morning meal became a beautiful moment of celebration — one that strengthened the bond between teacher and students. Indeed, joy can be found in the simplest acts of kindness, even in sharing KFC together in the classroom.
