SK GUAL TO'DEH - While sitting quietly in my room today, my attention was suddenly drawn to a worker who was replacing damaged roofing at the height of a four-storey building. From where I stood, I could clearly see him carefully balancing himself while carrying out his duty high above the ground. The situation immediately caught my interest and touched my heart. I felt compelled to take a photograph and move closer to observe his work more carefully. At that very moment, I realised how frightening such a job could be.
As I looked up from below, I honestly felt dizzy and nervous. Even standing safely on the ground, I could already feel the fear of heights. It was difficult for me to imagine how this worker managed to remain calm and focused while carrying out his responsibilities at such a dangerous height. Every movement required courage, concentration, and confidence. One small mistake could expose him to serious risks and danger.
This experience made me reflect deeply on the sacrifices made by workers who are involved in high-risk jobs such as repairing roofs, cleaning tall buildings, and constructing skyscrapers. These workers often face extreme weather conditions, physical exhaustion, and dangerous environments every single day. Despite the risks, they continue working diligently because they carry important responsibilities towards their families and loved ones. Their determination and bravery deserve great appreciation and respect from society.
Many people may only see the completed buildings and beautiful structures without thinking about the hardworking individuals behind them. In reality, every tall building and every repaired rooftop represent the sweat, effort, and sacrifice of workers who earn an honest living through difficult labour. These individuals work tirelessly to provide food, shelter, and education for their families. Their work may not always receive public recognition, but their contribution is truly meaningful and valuable.
Watching this worker also reminded me about the dignity of halal and honest earnings. No matter how difficult or dangerous the work may be, earning a living through lawful means is something noble and honourable. It is a symbol of responsibility, perseverance, and sincerity in fulfilling one’s duty as the provider for a family.
I sincerely pray that this hardworking man will always be protected and blessed by Allah SWT while carrying out his duties. May his work continue to bring halal sustenance and happiness to his family. I also hope that all workers in dangerous professions will remain safe, healthy, and appreciated for the sacrifices they make every day for the sake of their loved ones and society.
